In the 47th U.S. OTC International Petroleum Exhibition, HPMM Group made a stunning appearance in the main exhibition hall

The 47th U.S. OTC International Petroleum Exhibition in 2016 was held in Houston, USA from May 2nd to 5th, 2016. In order to promote our HPMM Group brand, expand the international market, and improve our corporate foreign trade capabilities, our HPMM Group has formed a team headed by Chairman Wang Zhengquan, Wolf Company’s Xiang Qianning, Tang Mi, Qu Huayong, Yu Zhengyang, Yue Bin and Sun Jian, a total of 7 exhibitors in the group participated in this year's OTC International Petroleum Exhibition in the United States. The exhibition and business inspection time was from April 28th to May 7th, 2016, for a total of 10 days.

 

The United States (Houston) International Petroleum Exhibition was established in 1969. It is the most important exhibition event in the world in terms of oil drilling, development, production, environmental protection and other resource development. Through the development of new technology in the oil and gas industry, political reforms, and economic fluctuations in the past 40 years, the OTC Oil Show in the United States has developed into the largest and most influential profession in the global oil and gas exploration, extraction, production and environmental protection field’s exhibition. The 2016 U.S. OTC Petroleum Exhibition gathers major oil companies around the world, many international petroleum machinery suppliers, and professional buyers from all over the world. It is recognized by exhibitors and industry insiders as the best platform to enter the U.S., Canada and European markets. The 2016 U.S. OTC Petroleum Exhibition is the most important exhibition in the global oil, gas, petrochemical and offshore engineering fair.

 

Houston, the host city of the U.S. OTC Petroleum Show, is the fourth largest city in the United States. It is located in the center of the petroleum industry on the Gulf Coast. Houston is the center of the U.S. energy industry and petrochemical industry, as well as the nation’s largest petroleum processing, petrochemical and basic chemical industry center which enjoys the reputation of "World Oil Capital" and "World Energy Capital". At present, Houston has a well-developed oil refining and petrochemical industry, and its oil refining capacity accounts for more than 30% of the United States. Its oil refining capacity and the output of major petrochemical products such as ethylene and synthetic rubber rank first in the country. Of the 30 largest oil companies in the United States, 29 have their headquarters in Houston. In addition, Houston has more than 5,000 companies engaged in energy-related businesses. There are many derricks and oil pipes around Houston, with Houston as the center, Beaumont in the east and Corpus Christi in the west. It is the largest oil industry zone in the United States. Houston's unique geographical advantages provide unique business opportunities for OTC exhibitors and visitors.

 

The annual U.S. OTC Petroleum Exhibition is a big stage to showcase the company's image and brand. Our group has participated in many consecutive exhibitions. The U.S. OTC Petroleum Exhibition has a high threshold. A very small number of large companies such as China National Petroleum Corporation, HPMM, Sinopec, and our companies enter the main hall area (RELIANT CENTER), while other Chinese companies can only enter the auxiliary hall area (ARENA commodity exhibition hall). The exhibition adopts the admission system, and the exhibition areas are ranked according to the scale of exhibitors, annual participation, and accumulated points year by year. Our booth was unveiled in the main exhibition hall for the first time this year. The booth area is 168 square meters. Being able to enter the main exhibition hall is a result of our years of hard work and communication through various channels. This is a positive affirmation of the strength of our group company. .

 

Under the care and guidance of Yao Guangwen, General Manager of Wolf, this year’s booth had been beneficially tried in terms of image design, space layout, light and shade matching, or product sand table display, which had good visual and viewing effects. It deeply attracted the

 

attention of visiting merchants and displayed the company's products and image very well. At the same time, in order to participate in this exhibition, Wolf Company has made careful arrangements and meticulous preparations. The exhibitors had their own division of labor. The team members helped each other, actively cooperated, and received visiting customers enthusiastically and actively. The booth of our group company was in the main hall area, opened on both sides, in the passenger flow area. Agents, important customers and merchants from all over the world came to the booth of our group company. Everyone said that the company image, booth and product display of the sand table left a deep impression on them and expressed their desire to further strengthen cooperation. The booth attracted a large number of professional businessmen and well-known companies to come to contact and consult. This exhibition firmly established the role of our group company as a large-scale professional manufacturer of petroleum equipment, greatly enhanced the visibility of our group company in the industry, and achieved the purpose of displaying and promoting the company's image and brand.

 

Before going to the United States, we have issued invitation letters to our old customers. Many old customers came to our booth and the reception personnel had close talks with them and actively promoted our group's products and services. At the exhibition, we adopted a combination of images, videos, and sand tables. There were very intuitive sand table models for merchants to visit, and videos were continuously played and displayed for merchants to watch. The negotiations were very active. During the exhibition, the exhibitors actively negotiated and promoted. At the meeting, more than 300 guests from more than ten countries including the United States, Canada, Nigeria, UAE, Britain, Mexico, and India were contacted and negotiated. Among them, there are more than 30 intended customers. During the OTC Petroleum Exhibition in the United States, Chairman Wang Zhengquan was also invited to attend the Energy Forum.

 

The results of this exhibition were very significant:

 

1. Promotion of the brand. To expand the popularity and reputation, the exhibition is a gathering place for people in the industry, allowing more domestic and foreign customers to know our company (HPMM), and visit the booth to experience the strong strength of our group company.

 

2. Make appointments with old customers. Whether it's old customers coming to the booth to reminisce about the past, or going to the guest company to have a discussion, it is a good way to maintain cooperation. Many old customers we invited came to our booth to visit and negotiate further. We gave some gifts to old customers as a souvenir for further communication and cooperation projects in the future.

 

3. Get to know new potential buyers. The most efficient aspect of the exhibition is that we can focus on interviews with potential buyers within a few days. There are many new faces. After a simple exchange, pin the name cards to our notebook, make a brief note, and start tracking after returning to our company. This is the main Purpose of the exhibitio, because while maintaining old guests, new guests must be added.

 

4. Look for agents, establish sales channels, and expand sales networks. Although it is a global village, the distance between countries still exists. So proxy is a better solution. If we obtain relevant information and it is difficult to negotiate the order by ourselves, we can disclose the information to the agent and let the agent talk to them face to face. This way the chance of success is much greater.

 

5. Meet with end users, negotiate and communicate to prove their commercial existence. Many buyers will come in contact after seeing you for the first time at the exhibition, but they will not focus on them. After participating 3 times in a row, we will be regarded as a stable, market-strategic, capable and sincere supplier. Rather than tentative and speculative to attend a fair and then withdraw. 

 

6. Meet with colleagues and carry out technical cooperation. Visiting the booths during the exhibition, we can get the latest developments such as the latest technology, get to know our peers, and meet partners.

 

7. Obtain new projects, procurement information and bidding opportunities. Many name cards were collected at the exhibition. Among them, there were many companies that are interested in cooperation. They brought us many good cooperation opportunities.

 

8. Exercising the team, participating in the exhibition is a good encouragement to cultivate the backbone. During the 10 days of getting along with each other during the exhibition trip, the team members were closely connected, which enhanced the cohesion of the team. Each member of the team has their own shining points, and at the same time, the exhibition also exercised the team very well.

 

Our participation in the U.S. OTC Petroleum Exhibition can provide a more true understanding of the needs of foreign markets and guide companies in formulating export strategies and changing marketing methods.
